We are seeking a professional and experienced Chef specialized in authentic Italian food to join our restaurant.
You will be responsible to prepare a variety of pizzas (Napolitana Style) and authentic pastas quickly and consistently in line with our company standards. You should have experience with different pizza types. You should also be available to work during peak business hours. Your main goal will be to help increase customer satisfaction by preparing high-quality pizzas and pastas.
Responsibilities:
• Ensures cooking stations are sanitized and prepped with necessary tools
• Menu conceptualization and engineering
– Full recipe book (photos, ingredient quality and quantity, complete procedure of preparation
• Prepares and stores pizza dough
• Prepares pizza and pasta sauces
• Orders supplies, maintains inventory, creates budgets to ensure profitable food cost
• Trains other cooks in the preparation process so all meals are uniform
• Checks quality of pizzas and pastas before they’re served to guests
• Performs regular maintenance on kitchen equipment
• Collaborates with staff on menu items
• Resolves customer complaints with diplomacy
• Makes sure the kitchen is clean and sanitized
• Wash and chop vegetables (for example, tomatoes, peppers, onions and mushrooms)
• Cut, slice and grill meats like chicken, shrimp and beef
• Recommend new recipes to update our menus
• Maintain a clean cooking station and sterilize equipment
Requirements:
. 3 years of work experience as a Pizza Chef (Pizzaiolo)
• Proficient with preparing and baking pizza dough
• Familiar with all professional kitchen equipment (e.g. brick or stone oven, dough mixer, etc)
• Outstanding understanding of food safety practices and hygiene
. Wastage control
• Excellent team spirit with a customer-focused attitude
• Flexible to work in shifts including weekends, late evenings and main holidays
• Ability to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent listening skills
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Quick decision-making skills
• Good time management skills
