Job Title: IT Network Administrator
Objective of Position
Serves a lead role for installation, maintenance, and support of company’s Network, Server and other IT Infrastructure ensuring all systems are working to maximum performance and availability for users. The suitable candidate will work towards continuous improvement of company’s Network and Server Infrastructure including server, and security administration a Microsoft Windows/Cisco environment/Cyberoam Environment.
Key Areas of Responsibility
• Maintain, develop and continuously improve company’s information systems.
• Administer, maintain and manage the operation of company’s LAN.
• Designs, maintain and updates the infrastructure applications and policies.
• Installs configures and troubleshoots group policy and administrative templates within a Server 2012.
• Ensure and establish safeguards to make sure all IT infrastructure base at remote construction sites have seamless connectivity to our Servers based at Head Office.
• Manages access to network resources including network storage, mailboxes, printers etc.
• Manages the traffic on the network to ensure proper allocation of resources as needed.
• In the event of network system or server malfunctions, diagnoses the problem and prepares and executes solutions with minimal interruption to basic service requirements
• Provides enterprise network security support services on site firewall in a complex inter-networking environment
• Works with Network Specialist / Manager to ensure server performance and maintains applications on servers
• Installs configures, troubleshoots, and maintains server-based applications running on the network including MS Exchange, SQL Server
• Secures network by developing network access, monitoring, control, and evaluation; maintaining documentation. Establish and implement policies, procedures, and technologies (including firewalls) to ensure server security.
• Responsible for server room and Network switches, deployments, reconfigurations, rewiring, and maintenance
• Backs-up and restores files on servers; provides reliable backup procedures, and operation plans for networkserver environment; and monitors daily backup activities.
• Upgrades network by conferring with vendors; developing, testing, evaluating, and installing enhancements.
• Supports and assists helpdesk technicians monitoring adherence and support to employees internal to the company.
• Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
• Meets financial requirements by submitting information for budgets, monitoring expenses
Key Qualifications
• Five years’ experience in computer networking, server administration, and information technology in a Microsoft Server, Cisco Network, and Cyberoam firewall environment.
• A minimum of Bachelor’s Degree together with Microsoft and Cisco certifications.
• Prior experience implementing and/or configuring and supporting corporate networks
• Should possess a strong capability to maintain keep up to date with documentation of all work carried out.
• Developed verbal and written English and Arabic communication skills.
• Enthusiastic and hands-on style, capable of resolving day-to-day issues and willing to self-learn and teach other members of the team and the organization.
