Job Description:
Senior Cost Accountant, required for a company in Khobar, Saudi Arabia.
– The Senior Cost Accountant will have five or more years in a manufacturing environment, possess proficiency in Standard Costing and have a four year degree in accounting.
– The Senior Cost Accountant will have experience in analyzing inventories; provide detailed analysis of product costing variance.
– Complete forecasting and budgeting requirements, including monthly absorption analysis, achieve goals in accordance with established policies, responsible for Sarbanes-Oxley 404 compliance in the area of responsibility, and maintain the ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system, master data and correction of product costing events.
– The ideal candidate will possess excellent time management skills and solid written and verbal communication.
Primary Responsibilities:
– Role to entail monitoring and analysis of manufacturing revenue and costs of goods sold, inventory, cost control and spending versus plan.
Position is also responsible for daily interactions with Manufacturing Operations. The cost accountant will perform the following tasks:
– Audit and post all receipts batches and perform all inventory adjustments including monthly physical inventory results. Create ME inventory “freeze” file and reconcile results.
– Review of obsolete items and slow moving inventory.
– Coordinate with Purchasing, Planning, Shipping and receiving and accounts payable to ensure proper recording of un-invoiced receipts and proper payment of all factory receipts.
– Monthly close process-includes preparing and entering general ledger entries, account reconciliations and reporting.
– Monthly Reconciliation of inventory including raw material, finished goods, WIP, Inventory in Transit, etc.
– Provide financial support and training to Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Planning and Management.
– Assist Manufacturing controller in financial planning, forecasting and monitoring versus objectives.
– Perform Fixed Assets and Inventory/WIP audits. Perform cycle count audits of inventory warehouse items, data entry of various sets of production data including but not limited to labor reporting.
– Evaluate Internal Controls over production reporting and inventory, assist in the formulating policies and procedures consistent with Company goals.
– Responsible for ad hoc reporting, analysis or projects as required.
Other Responsibilities:
– Monthly Close and Reporting.
– Assist with financial audits.
– Maintain fixed asset accounting files and vendor files.
Desired Skills and Experience:
Our ideal candidate will possess the following skills, abilities and knowledge:
– Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
– 5+ years of manufacturing accounting experience.
– Demonstrated expertise for accounting and reporting of costs, overhead, inventory, controls and physical inventory counts.
– Knowledge of auditing practices and principles. Proven accounting processing skills.
– Demonstrated systems and technical background in accounting software.
– Experience in Oracle Application preferred.
– Ability to identify, create and implement automated accounting processes, procedures and reports; ability to use Management Reporter/FRX and Crystal Reporting is a plus.
– Proven intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
– Strong analytical skills and the ability to collaborate with a multi-department teams.
– Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
– Well developed organizational, analytical and problem solving skills, aligned with excellent attention to detail.
