Strategy leadership: Sets customer and market driven strategic direction for driving profitable growth and capital efficiency of the organization in line with the board members and chief executive officer.
Operational performance: Runs the business end-to-end, i.e. front-end to back-end operations and is responsible for all day-to-day management decisions. Decides and manages all operational matters at a high level, e.g. sales, proposals, procurement, logistics, manufacturing, Assembling, Engineering, Finance & Accounting, Project management, Warehouse & Distribution, Quality and Continuous improvement, HR, and IS etc., as well as investment/divestment of physical assets, within approved limits. Define with board members an appropriate organizational structure to support execution of business strategies.
Targets and budget: Responsible and accountable for establishing and achieving all financial and operational targets as specified by the board members, including orders, orders gross margin, revenues, market share, EBITA, net income, net working capital and cash flow. Sets project execution/operational targets and ensures these are achieved.
Manufacturing: Oversees the production and assembly unit as allocated by the board members and implements plans to achieve production targets and improve manufacturing process and competence in line with Factory Manager.
Project execution: Leads the execution team (Procurement & Logistic, Engineering and Project Management, etc.) to a common goal and purpose – i.e. drives efficiency and effectiveness, improves cash and profitability in alignment with the business goals and targets. Takes leadership for projects completion and closeout. Ensures the delivery of projects follows good methodology and execution practices in accordance with internal standard procedures, and that projects are closed as per contracts entered with customers.
Business Plans: Develops and implements annual business plan in conjunction with the board members and internal business departments. Prepares business plans focused on business development for a defined market.
Market leadership: Maximize profitable growth and capital efficiency for the organization, and secure market penetration. Ensure achievement of sales volume with target margin.
Competitiveness: Drives new business activities and start-up initiatives. Ensures the competitive design of the value chain/market footprint in line with board members.
People leadership and development: Ensures (with HR support) that the area of responsibility is properly organized, staffed, skilled and directed. Guides, motivates and develops direct and indirect reports within HR policies.
Marketing and Sales: Oversees all marketing and sales activities. Responsible for sales demand orders and growth. Builds and maintains strong relationships with new and existing customers to ensure ongoing customer satisfaction and improve net promoter scores (NPS)
Standards and governance: Implements and ensures compliance standards, rules, tools, policies and processes related to operations/project execution. Shares functional best practices and lessons learned across the organization.
Research & development: Oversees relevant local Research and Development initiatives.
Quality: Oversees production and/or execution of high quality products, services and processes. Monitors quality metrics, identifies opportunities for improvement in local execution, and oversees improvement activities
Risks Management: Responsible for identifying and minimizing all risks in the business chain Tools: Assists in the development of the business tools to support business process.
