A leading & reputed construction company in Saudi Arabia, is seeking a young & dynamic Mechanical Site Engineer, for an upcoming National Grid Project based in Abha.
The mechanical site engineer will oversee operations on a day‐to‐day basis, and ensure that work is done safely, on time and within budget and to the right quality standards.
While construction activities are taking place, the Mechanical Site Engineer will monitor progress, oversee delivery of materials and carry out safety checks and sort out any problems which could hold up work as they arise. He will also ensure that work complies with building regulations and health and safety legislation as well as other legal requirements.
Finally, a mechanical site engineer also acts as the first point of contact for members of the public and sub‐contractors.
It is the responsibility of the mechanical site engineer to make sure that the deadline for completing work is met, and you will at least share some of the responsibility if someone on your site has an accident.
Responsibilities
‐ Managing all mechanical construction works in one project or more
‐ Overseeing mechanical site work
‐ Undertaking surveys
‐ Setting out sites and organizing facilities
‐ Checking technical designs and drawings to ensure that they are followed correctly
‐ Supervising contracted staff
‐ Ensuring works to be accomplished meet agreed specifications, budgets or timescales
‐ Liaising with clients, subcontractors and other professional staff, especially quantity surveyors and the overall project manager
‐ Providing technical advice and solving problems on site
‐ Preparing site reports and filling in other paperwork
‐ Liaising with quantity surveyors about the ordering and negotiating the price of materials
‐ Ensuring that health and safety and sustainability policies and legislation are adhered to. Mechanical Site Engineers work out on a construction site in all weathers and tend to work on one project at a time. Depending on the location of the project, they might need to relocate or complete a lengthy commute.
Qualifications and training required
‐ Mechanical Engineering Graduates with an accredited degree in engineering
‐ 2+ Yrs of experience in construction projects, where most of same shall be working as mechanical site engineer.
‐ Extensive construction, testing & commissioning experience in Chilled Water type HVAC Systems.
– Advanced AutoCAD proficiency.
– Basic or intermediate HVAC Design Software Packages proficiency.
– Transferable Iqama & Valid Saudi Driving Licence
