JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES
The main responsibilities of the role are categorised under the following areas:

Technology Strategy and Infrastructure
Collaborate with the Head of Digital Technology (educational role) to ensure that digital strategies and infrastructure are aligned with the vision and educational goals from Nursery to Senior School.

Develop comprehensive digital strategies and a strategic plan outlining technological needs.

Ensure the network and hardware infrastructure meets the operational and educational requirements; lead continuous evaluations and suggest enhancements.

Identify, procure, and implement tools and applications supporting educational, administrative, and communication systems.

Oversee procurement and deployment of software systems, hardware, and tech devices.

Work with the Business Manager to define CAPEX and OPEX needs and manage the departmental budget.

Lead the 1:1 device strategy, including procurement, setup, rollout, and ongoing support.

Take ownership of the isams system to ensure effective usage by staff and parents.

Manage servers, network infrastructure, firewalls, and security systems.

Oversee wifi and telephony systems in collaboration with local partners.

Support parental communication platforms through isams and related applications.

Handle the technical setup for school events, including AV and digital presentation tools.

IT Service Management and Vendor Relations
Implement and manage IT service desk operations.

Establish and oversee an efficient IT helpdesk to handle technical requests from staff, students, and parents.

Develop and maintain an IT service catalogue and define Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

Manage and negotiate vendor contracts to ensure high-quality service and value.

Educational Support
Partner with the Head of Digital Technology and Senior Leadership Team to integrate digital literacy across the curriculum.

Assist with termly gradebooks and school reports.

Explore additional ways for technology to enhance teaching and learning.

Collaborate with the App Committee to assess the impact of educational apps.

Security and Business Continuity
Create and manage disaster recovery and business continuity plans.

Ensure IT continuity in case of hardware failure, breaches, or other disruptions.

Regularly test backup and recovery systems to minimise risk and downtime.

Safeguarding
Maintain a secure and robust firewall, reporting concerns directly to the DSL.

Implement group-wide IT policies to ensure a digitally safe environment.

Oversee usage agreements for staff and pupils.

Evaluate safe use of technology across the community and recommend improvements.

Lead efforts around cybersecurity and data protection.

Collaboration and Community
Lead and build a tech team that supports the school’s digital growth.

Oversee project completion through effective line management.

Promote collaboration, best practice sharing, and team cohesion.

Assist with onboarding staff in using isams and the Parent Portal.

Support administrative teams during the annual data rollover.

Uphold a professional work ethic, mutual respect, and punctuality.

Use Microsoft 365 tools to manage the school calendar.

Performance Management
Ensure the IT team stays updated with relevant trends and technologies.

Promote continuous learning and development for IT staff.

Develop KPIs for IT operations and report performance to senior leaders.

Conduct periodic audits and evaluations to improve processes and ensure compliance.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience
Degree in Computing, Digital Technology, or related field.

Proven experience managing IT and MIS in an educational setting.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
