Job Requirement:
Support 1000+ Linux/AIX/Sun/HP servers in Data Centers globally 24×7 Support
Operating Systems, Web servers (Apache, Netscape) Apply patches, install software, manage file systems, troubleshoot performance issues Troubleshoot alerts from monitoring system for system error conditions (system down, disk full, CPU busy, memory full etc.) Servicing tickets submitted by developers.
Job Responsibility
Technical Skills (Must Have):
• In-depth troubleshooting of at least 2 Unix operating systems (HP-UX, Solaris, AIX,
Linux preferably Linux and/or AIX)
• Automating tasks using a scripting language (ksh, perl etc)
• Analyzing performance issues
• In-depth experience with at least 2 Volume Managers (VERITAS, HP LVM, IBM LVM, SUSE LVM, Sun SDS)
• Customer interface experience (managing expectations; negotiating compromise solutions) Technical Skills (Nice to Have)
• Data Center experience (change control; ticketing systems; coordinating with other support groups)
• SAN experience (SVC, EMC BCV, SRDF; Powerpath; DMP)
• Experience defining technical standards for anorganization
