Key Responsibilities:
Create detailed 2D and 3D technical drawings, layouts, and diagrams using AutoCAD and AutoCAD Mechanical.
Develop comprehensive drawing sets including part drawings, assembly drawings, bill of materials (BOM), and installation manuals.
Apply precise dimensions, tolerances, and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) standards to drawings.
Revise and update existing drawings based on mark-ups and Engineering Change Orders (ECOs).
Work closely with mechanical engineers to interpret design sketches, concepts, and client requirements.
Check and verify drawings for accuracy, clarity, and compliance with both company and industry standards (e.g., ASME Y14.5).
Participate in design reviews and contribute ideas for manufacturability and cost-effectiveness.
Maintain an organized library of CAD files and project documentation.
What We’re Looking For (Qualifications):
Required:
Associate’s degree or certification in Mechanical Drafting, CAD Technology, or a related field, OR equivalent proven experience.
3+ years of professional experience as a mechanical draftsman, with a strong portfolio demonstrating proficiency in AutoCAD.
Solid understanding of mechanical principles, manufacturing processes (machining, welding, sheet metal), and materials.
Proven ability to create clear and accurate multi-view drawings, section views, and detail views.
Experience with applying dimensions, tolerances, and notes to drawings.
Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to producing error-free work.
Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects.
