Chief Design Engineer – Switchgear – Saudi Arabi

Position: Chief Design Engineer – Switchgear
Basic Salary Range – SR.9,000 – SR.11,000
Detailed Job Responsibilities:
1. Supervise a group of Mechanical Design Engineers and Draftsmen in the creation of Mechanical drawings, procedures and Bill of Materials to achieve maximum efficiency & continuously monitor and support to ensure schedules are met and procedures are followed.
2. Supervise mechanical design related to existing product range, design enhancements, development and product integration.
3. Supervise the Preparation of Drawings Legends of Switchgear assembly for Production, material list (BOM), assembly drawing and part drawing including drawing sign-offs.
4. Review and check the standardized GA and sectional view drawings for Job Engineers to complete customer submittal and resolve any outstanding questions or issues that arise during design review.
5. Verification of JDE Bill of Materials, Material requisition/ Sub-supplier Purchase Orders and inventory management related to mechanical components.
6. Prepare and checking of production release files, and resolve any outstanding questions or issues that arise during Manufacturing and Inspection.
7. Gives training, guidance and developing skills to his subordinates and interaction with other sections/departments on technical issues.
8. Implementation of continuous improvement and development of systems to ensure ongoing compliance with ISO9001 and ERP requirements.
9. To design considering manufacturing and assembly processes and techniques (DFMA)
Work Experience Requirements:
1. 10 years of related experience in Switchgear Manufacturing Industry with working knowledge in Mechanical Design, sheet metal & copper fabrication drawings, enclosure types at least 3 years experience of supervisory or leading a group of Design Engineers.
2. Familiarity with 3D and 2D engineering design and manufacturing tools using AutoCad, Inventor / Solid works etc.

Required Knowledge & Skills:
1 Ability to interpret basic front elevation, one-line, and schematic drawings
2 Has a good knowledge about Mechanical Design, Sheet metal fabrication & busbar fabrication
3 Knowledge on international technical standards (ANSI/IEC/UL/ASTM/NEMA etc.) related to the job category
4 Leadership Skills and Good command in English and communication skills
5 Good Knowledge about NEMA/IEC Enclosure types and classifications.
6 Awareness of QMS,EMS Policies & Standards. ISO 14001:2015 & 9001:2015
7 Awareness of Safety & Procedure.
