Key Responsibilities
Inspect structural steel fabrication and erection activities to ensure compliance with approved drawings and specifications.
Review shop drawings, project specifications, ITPs, method statements, and quality requirements.
Conduct incoming material inspections and verify material certificates, MTCs, and traceability.
Monitor fit-up, welding, dimensional inspection, and visual inspection (VT).
Coordinate and follow up on NDT activities such as UT, MT, PT, and RT, where applicable.
Ensure welding activities comply with approved WPS/PQR and that welders have valid qualifications.
Monitor surface preparation, sandblasting, painting, and coating activities, including DFT inspection.
Prepare and maintain inspection reports, checklists, NCRs, and quality documentation.
Coordinate with clients, consultants, and third-party inspectors during inspections.
Raise and follow up on Inspection Requests (IR) and ensure timely approval.
Identify quality issues and coordinate with the production/site team for corrective and preventive actions.
Ensure proper material identification and traceability throughout fabrication and erection.
Conduct final inspections and prepare quality dossiers / handover documentation.
Ensure compliance with applicable ISO, AWS, ASME, ASTM, Aramco, and project-specific requirements, as applicable.
Support the preparation and implementation of the company’s Quality Management System (QMS).
Maintain proper records of all inspection and testing activities.
Requirements
Diploma/Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Civil, Welding, or related engineering field.
5–10 years of experience in QC, preferably in structural steel fabrication and erection.
Good knowledge of welding inspection, fabrication, NDT, painting/coating, and dimensional inspection.
Knowledge of WPS, PQR, WPQ, ITP, NCR, MIR, IR, and quality documentation.
Familiarity with relevant international standards and project specifications.
Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and fabrication drawings.
Good communication and coordination skills.
Experience working with clients, consultants, and third-party inspection agencies is an advantage.
Saudi Aramco / SABIC / NEOM project experience will be an added advantage.
Transferable Iqama is mandatory
