Role Summary
Take full ownership of day-to-day site execution for the assigned project. This is an independent, hands-on site leadership role – not a heavy back-office management position – suited to a strong mid-career professional who can run the site end-to-end, deliver against the schedule, and act as the contractor’s senior face to the Client on the ground.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead all site execution activities across civil, structural, mechanical, piping and grounding scopes, ensuring full compliance with the project Scope of Work, Specifications and Responsibility Matrix.
• Manage mobilisation – temporary site facility set-up, equipment, manpower deployment and subcontractor on-boarding – through to demobilisation and final handover.
• Plan and direct the daily work programme; allocate work fronts and resources; remove site bottlenecks; drive productivity.
• Serve as the contractor’s primary site representative to the Client. Chair weekly coordination meetings and attend monthly progress reviews at the Client’s office.
• Approve method statements, lifting plans, JSAs and Permit-to-Work submissions before execution. Personally walk the site to verify safe set-up of every critical activity.
• Own site HSE leadership in partnership with the HSE Officer – stop unsafe work, lead daily TBTs, ensure full PPE compliance, and meet all Client / regulatory / KSA requirements at all times.
• Ensure all QC hold points are honoured – Client given the required advance notice; concrete pours, anchor-bolt sign-offs, structural-steel erection inspections, welding, NDE and hydrotests all completed and documented before progressing.
• Monitor cost and productivity against the bid plan; raise variation requests, change orders and EOT claims as needed with supporting documentation.
• Manage subcontractors – contract administration, work-front allocation, WIP validation and invoice approval.
• Drive mechanical completion – punch list management (Categories A through E), as-built documentation, final inspection book and project closeout to the Client’s satisfaction.
Qualifications & Experience
• Education: B.E. / B.Tech in Civil or Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience: 10–15 years of construction experience, with at least 5 years as a Site Manager or Construction Manager independently running a project site.
• Industry: Strong track record in industrial / petrochemical / chemical / oil & gas / power plant construction; brownfield (live-plant) expansion experience strongly preferred.
• Country Experience: Significant Saudi Arabia site experience is required. Familiarity with major KSA Clients and regulatory bodies (Aramco, SABIC, SEC, Royal Commission, Marafiq, etc.) is preferred.
• Technical Knowledge: Reinforced concrete and structural steel construction; ACI / AISC / ASTM A36 / ASTM A123 standards; AWS D1.1 welding inspection; ASME B31.3 piping (familiarity); lifting and rigging plans; ITP / method statement / JSA review.
• Saudi Council of Engineers: SCE membership preferred (mandatory before mobilisation if already based in KSA).
Key Competencies
• Independent site leadership – decisive, hands-on, present at the work-front, leads by example.
• Strong client management – professional, calm and constructive in dealing with the Client’s project team. Builds trust through transparency and reliable delivery.
• Disciplined HSE-first mindset – will not compromise on safety for schedule.
• Commercial awareness – understands contract obligations, scope boundaries, variations and progress measurement.
• Strong verbal and written English (Arabic an advantage); able to write clear technical correspondence and progress narratives.
• Ability to mentor and develop the site team – Project Engineer, supervisors, foremen and QC staff.
