Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Freight Forwarding Supervisor to lead our client’s logistics operations and ensure seamless coordination of freight forwarding activities. This role is ideal for someone with 3-4 years of logistics and freight forwarding experience who is ready to take on a supervisory position. The Freight Forwarding Supervisor will oversee a team, manage shipments, communicate with clients, and ensure compliance with all regulations, playing a critical role in maintaining efficient and cost-effective logistics solutions.
Key responsibilities:
1. Oversee Daily Freight Operations – Supervise and coordinate freight forwarding processes, including import, export, and domestic shipments. Ensure timely and accurate dispatch and delivery of goods.
2. Team Supervision – Lead a team of freight coordinators, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure operational goals are met. Foster a positive and efficient work environment.
3. Customer Relationship Management – Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and carriers. Address customer inquiries, track shipments, and resolve any logistics issues quickly and professionally.
4. Documentation and Compliance – Ensure all shipment documentation, such as bills of lading, import/export permits, and other regulatory paperwork, is complete and complies with local and international regulations.
5. Cost Management – Monitor and control freight costs, negotiate rates with carriers and optimize routes to maintain profitability and efficiency.
6. Problem-Solving and Escalation – Act as the point of contact for escalated issues, troubleshooting logistical problems, and implementing effective solutions.
7. Performance Tracking and Reporting – Monitor KPIs and report on freight forwarding performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing necessary changes.
Qualifications:
1. Education – Bachelor’s or Diploma degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or a related field.
2. Leadership Abilities – Experience in supervising or leading a team is preferred.
3. Industry Knowledge – Strong understanding of freight forwarding processes, including regulations and compliance in international logistics.
4. Communication Skills – Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with team members, clients, and carriers.
5. Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze data, optimize routes, and reduce costs while maintaining service quality.
