Job Details:
– The Desktop Support Engineer must assist and help the various departments in the company to complete their work quickly and perfectly with the help of a desktop computer.
– Connecting all computers through a network {may be wired or wireless} helps them to transfer files or document easily to another department for approval.
– Using networking delay or missing of files while transferring will be avoided.
– Both software and hardware devices of the computer must be checked periodically and troubleshoot as quickly as possible, because that may lead to delay in completing the works.
Functions and duties of a desktop support engineer:
– Must teach the working procedure in a desktop to the employees of the company.
– Testing the computer and network connections and ensure that all the devices are working properly.
– Must setup the computer in the company and must take care of installing and uninstalling the software to the concern system as per their needs.
– Must discuss with the employee who uses the computer for his official works, so that it may help to know the problem in the computer and get an easy and effective solution.
– Maintaining the networking system and its bus may avoid sping large sum money over repairing the devices.
– It is very essential to give suggestions to the management about upgrading the systems or any other devices.
– Must take care of ordering and receiving the computer spares needed for the updating of systems needed by the company.
Needed for a Desktop Support Engineer:
– Should not expect anyone to order him / her on their work, they must schedule their work and keep on doing it.
– Must have the ability of doing one or more task at a time.
– Must be well versed in various operating systems.
– Good practical knowledge in solving the problems.
