Job Title: Project Manager
The Project Manager is responsible for overall management of projects including design, communications, personnel management, budget, schedule, quality control and client communication/ relationship. The project manager in the Water/Wastewater Department interacts with most other departments and sub-consultants as necessary depending on the scope of the project. The project manager is responsible for maintaining existing and developing new client relationships, proposal and business development.
Required Experience
• Bachelor’s / Master’s Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or Water Resources
• 12 to 15 years of directly-relevant experience in water and wastewater engineering
• Registration as a Professional Engineer
• Must understand, read, write, and speak fluent English
Required Skills
• Application of engineering principles including critical thinking, analysis, and innovative techniques
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Work well in a team environment
• Have the ability to communicate effectively with clients and project team
• Highly motivated, articulate, and self-starting
• Proficient in MS Word and Excel
Duties:
• Direct and manage project development from beginning to end
• Effectively communicate project expectations to team members, project stakeholders and clients in a timely and clear fashion
• Performing engineering work in water and wastewater treatment and conveyance infrastructure
• Work on engineering planning and design projects
• Submit progress reports to clients
• Develop plans and specifications
• Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team
• Prepare cost estimates for various water and wastewater projects
• Financial management of projects including invoicing and budget control/oversight
• Plan, track and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate management tools
• Permitting and alternative analysis
• Preparation of technical memoranda, reports and electronic deliverables
• Data entry and analysis
• Keep apprised of environmental rules and permitting requirements
• Provide engineering services during construction
• Participate in field activities such as pilot testing
