Duties:
The Safety Officer plays a critical role in promoting and maintaining a safe working environment at Saudi Electricity Company projects or substations. They are responsible for implementing safety policies and procedures, conducting risk assessments, and providing safety training to employees and contractors.
Responsibilities:
1-Safety Compliance:
Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations, standards, and company policies.
Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
2-Risk Assessment:
Conduct thorough risk assessments for various activities and operations within projects or substations.
Develop and implement control measures to mitigate identified risks.
3-Safety Training:
Develop and deliver safety training programs for employees and contractors.
Ensure that all personnel are adequately trained in safety procedures and emergency response protocols.
4-Incident Investigation:
Investigate accidents, near misses, and safety incidents to determine root causes and prevent recurrence.
Prepare detailed incident reports and recommend corrective actions as necessary.
5-Safety Communication:
Promote a culture of safety by communicating the importance of safe work practices and encouraging employee participation in safety initiatives.
Facilitate safety meetings and toolbox talks to discuss relevant safety topics and address concerns.
6-Emergency Preparedness:
Develop emergency response plans and procedures for various scenarios, including fire, chemical spills, and medical emergencies.
Conduct drills and simulations to test the effectiveness of emergency response protocols.
7-Safety Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, audits, training sessions, and incidents.
Ensure that all safety documentation is up-to-date and easily accessible for regulatory compliance and internal reporting purposes.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, Nebosh or related field.
5-7 years of experience in safety management, preferably in construction projects or electrical substations, with specific experience in Saudi Electricity Company projects highly desirable.
