We are currently looking for an English Professor:
Responsible for teaching students about the history, theory, and practice of literature. They may also be tasked with helping students develop their writing skills or improve their reading comprehension.
He/She must have a deep knowledge of the subject they teach. Has the means to stay up-to-date on new developments in the field as well as classic works of literature.
Job Description:
– Teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in their specialization area, such as English literature, composition studies, creative writing, or linguistics
– Maintaining a current knowledge base of the field by attending conferences, workshops, seminars, and other professional development activities
– Providing feedback to students on their work in order to help them improve their writing skills and comprehension of course materials
– Conducting research on topics related to their field of study, publishing their findings in peer-reviewed journals, and presenting them at conferences
– Participating in departmental, school, and university committees to help shape curricula and policies
– Developing new courses or updating existing ones to meet changing student needs or faculty interests
– Preparing and delivering lectures to undergraduate and graduate students on topics within their area of expertise
– Preparing course materials such as syllabi, handouts, and homework assignments
– Reviewing student work such as term papers, exams, and research papers
Education: A minimum of a master’s degree to teach at the college level. Having Ph.D. is a more desirable candidate.
Training & Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience as a professor, in front of a classroom. Working as an editor or writer, in training programs and seminars is a plus point.
