Key Responsibilities:
1. Pre-Installation Activities:
• Material receiving inspection up on receipt , verify with packing list , manual, drawing and report, if any non compliance
• Review and verify vendor documents such as equipment GA drawings, data sheets, installation procedures, and inspection and test plans.
• Conduct visual inspections of delivered equipment for damage, correct preservation, and proper storage (e.g., humidity control, protective coverings).
• Verify all accessories, baseplates, grout materials, foundation readiness, and anchor bolts prior to equipment installation.
2. Installation Inspection:
• Monitor and inspect alignment and leveling during installation of rotating equipment using precision tools (e.g., dial gauges, laser alignment).
• Witness installation of baseplates, shimming, soft foot corrections, and grouting (epoxy or cementitious types).
• Verify correct torqueing of bolts as per vendor recommendations and approved procedures.
• Ensure proper orientation and connection of auxiliary systems (lubrication lines, cooling water, seal systems, etc.).
3. Post-Installation and Pre-Commissioning:
• Inspect and witness coupling alignment (cold and hot alignment if applicable).
• Confirm correct rotation of equipment and absence of abnormal noise or vibration during bump test or no-load run.
• Witness performance and mechanical run tests as per vendor standards (e.g., API 610, API 617, API 618).
4. Documentation and Compliance:
• Ensure all inspections and tests are performed as per approved ITPs and Method Statements.
• Review and verify equipment installation dossiers including calibration certificates, test reports, and checklists.
• Maintain detailed inspection records and punch lists; track close-outs before mechanical completion.
5. Coordination:
• Interface with client representatives, construction team, Subcontractor and vendor service engineers during equipment installation and commissioning.
• Liaise with discipline leads to resolve technical issues or deviations.

Required Qualifications & Skills:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 7–10 years of relevant experience in rotating and mechanical equipment inspection within Oil & Gas EPC or construction projects.
• In-depth knowledge of relevant codes and standards, including:
o API 610 – Centrifugal Pumps
o API 617 / 618 – Compressors
o API 686 – Recommended Practices for Machinery Installation
o ASME Sec VIII / V / IX, ISO standards
• Familiarity with rotating equipment from major vendors
• Proficient in interpreting P&IDs, vendor drawings, skid layouts, alignment reports, and test data.
• Skilled in use of alignment tools (dial indicators, laser alignment systems), torque wrenches, vibration monitors.
• Strong reporting and documentation skills.

• API Certifications (API 686, API 610 knowledge)

• Site-based work in construction environments; must be prepared for extended hours and rotating shifts.
